A Romantic Santorini Elopement at Dana Villas, where the story arc of the film unfolds as a Triptych, based on three words inspired by the vows.
Santorini has many beautiful venues, but Dana Villas carries a particular stillness — terraces suspended above the caldera, light reflecting endlessly off white surfaces, and the Aegean stretching beyond sight.
This elopement unfolded here, in early afternoon light, leaving space for portraits across the island before returning for an intimate dinner on the lower terrace — beneath the very arch where vows had just been exchanged.
It was elegant, intentional, and deeply personal.

Before the florals, before the preps, before the wind moved through the arch — there was quiet.
We filmed an intimate session inside their suite, allowing the story to begin softly. Close frames. Gentle movement. The calm before everything changed.
These moments became essential to the rhythm of the film — grounding it in tenderness before expanding into landscape.

The ceremony took place on the terrace of Dana Villas, overlooking the volcanic cliffs.
Their vows were raw and emotional — at times fragile, at times resolute. There were tears. There were pauses. There was truth.

After the ceremony, a violinist filled the terrace with music as the couple shared their first dance under the Santorini sky. Champagne followed. The atmosphere shifted from sacred to celebratory — effortlessly.
Below, the lower terrace had been transformed into something extraordinary:
a mirror table placed directly beneath the floral arch, reflecting sky, florals, and light — as if the ceremony never ended, only evolved into dinner.

This elopement film is titled Triptych.
It unfolds in three parts, inspired by three words from their vows:
Ocean.
Essence.
Fate.
The structure mirrors their story.
She is from Denver. He moved from San Diego after long-distance became too heavy to bear. Their relationship grew through distance, through questioning norms, through choosing what felt right rather than what was expected.

They speak of growth. Of spiritual dives. Of loving fully, even imperfectly.
The ocean becomes metaphor — for movement, for depth, for surrender.
The film begins and ends in mystery — eyes closed, time suspended — shaped by layered sound design and visual transitions that echo the idea of destiny unfolding in precise timing.
Not documentary.
Not abstract.
But intentional.
The following morning, we explored the island beyond Dana Villas.
Akrotiri’s raw volcanic textures contrasted with the softness of the ceremony.
Amoudi Bay in Oia offered color, movement, and life.
These portraits added breath to the narrative — expanding the emotional space of the film.

Days later, in Mykonos, they wrote letters to their future selves.
Sealed. Filmed. Preserved.
These visual fragments were woven into the film — not as explanation, but as suggestion. A reminder that this elopement was not just about a day, but about continuity.
Dana Villas offers layered terraces that allow ceremony, portraits, and dinner to unfold seamlessly within one architectural rhythm. Early afternoon ceremonies create space for sunset portraits across Santorini before returning for an intimate dining experience.
The island’s wind, light direction, and foot traffic require thoughtful planning — something I discuss in more detail on my

Santorini is iconic. But when approached intentionally, it becomes personal.
And on this day, it did.

If you’d like to continue the conversation or share your plans with me, I look forward to hearing more about your story!
